Series of Louis the XVth and and Louis the XVIth armchairs compressed into plexiglass cubes.

These iconic French armchairs have past through time without any alteration in their design. The main concept is to adapt its design into the twenty-first century without losing touch with its main feature which is craftsmanship and simultaneously creating a unique piece each time. Designing a new object does not mean to have to invent a new shape or a new structure. It can also mean to give a new youth to an object that already exists. The purpose of this project is to bring an alternative to industrial design that produces thousands of the same object with exactly the same form. In this case, when industrialized, the cubes will be the same but will not be able to be compressed identically. The person who obtains this cube can sit on a part of history, of contemporary modernity, and on a genuine piece.
